Start with direction
A long signal describes an upward-direction setup. A short signal describes a downward-direction setup. Neither is an instruction to buy or sell, and neither proves that the next price move will follow that direction.
Read the levels with the signal
A target is a reference for a possible exit in the expected direction. A stop marks a reference in the opposite direction. Displayed levels are chart information, not orders placed at your broker. Position sizing, fees and execution still affect what a trade would mean for your account.
Try this now
Choose an older signal and identify its direction, target and stop. Look at the candles that follow, including movement against it. Practice interpreting the display before considering a live position.
